CARE Circle of Friends

Helping care for those with AIDS requires CARE. The CARE Center at St. Mary Medical Center Long Beach works to meet the medical and social needs of the HIV community throughout Los Angeles County. CARE is a non-profit hospital-based HIV program that is directly funded by federal, state and county grants along with private donations. It provides a full spectrum of services from treatment, support, and education for the newly diagnosed, to care for long-term survivors.

St. Mary Medical Center Foundation invites you to support our CARE Center with a membership in our CARE Circle of Friends. All funds raised by the CARE Circle members are used to fund CARE’s programs and services, including HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, Care Access and Minority Access Support Program, Family Services Program, CARE Dental Clinic, CARE Clinic and the CARE Food Bank.

The CARE Center supports people living with HIV and others directly impacted by the virus. CARE provides medical care, behavioral health services, food and nutrition, supportive services, oral healthcare, and prevention education to reduce the impact of HIV within Long Beach and beyond. CARE’s model of comprehensive services was one of the first of its kind. It serves over 1,600 people every year – regardless of their ability to pay – and has touched countless more in its over 30 years of service.
